FAQ: Workshops and Tutorials

We are happy to welcome you as an organizer or attendee of the workshop and/or tutorial track. In the following, we are summarizing the relevant information.

Available Equipment and Hardware

The rooms offer several moveable tables and chairs as well as one projector, and a wall to display the projection. The projectors have an HDMI connector. Please bring your own adapter if you need a different connector. If you have requested more projectors or other devices (e.g., overhead projection), then please wait for our confirmation. We currently try to confirm their availability. The same applies to flip boards, whiteboards, or poster walls, for which we also try to confirm their availability at the moment. Furthermore, we advise you to bring any additional equipment by yourself that you need to hold your workshop or tutorial (e.g., moderation case). If you have specified equipment that we are not able to provide, we will write you an E-Mail to inform you.

Template

Please use the ACM Latex Template (https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template) with the command \documentclass[sigconf,screen]{acmart} at the top of the document to convert it into the two-column format. Please check the correct format and alignment of your tables and pictures after conversion.

Copyright Snippet

Each workshop proposal, workshop paper, and tutorial proposal needs to include a copyright statement. Instructions for including the copyright statement can be found here: https://muc2022.mensch-und-computer.de/en/cfp-en/guidelines-for-publication/#UP_Track_Workshops_in_the_HCI_-_Scientific_Track.

Deadline Camera-Ready

The final deadline for submitting the camera-ready is July 29th (workshop proposals, paper, and tutorial proposal). The final submissions can be made via Conftool. If you are using a different submission system than conftool, please make the papers available to the proceedings chairs by the camera-ready deadline. The proceedings can be sent to proceedings@mensch-und-computer.de.

Free Registrations (Tutorials Only)

We are offering one-day free registrations for tutorial organizers. Either tutorial organizers receive a reduction of their registration fee (one day free) or tutorial organizers who are attending their tutorial day only receive a free registration for this day. We are not offering free registrations for workshop organizers.

Time Plan

Most of the workshops and tutorials will be held on Sunday, September 4th 2022 in the old main building of the TU Darmstadt (Altes Hauptgebäude). There will be breaks during the following times: 10:30 – 11:00, 12:30 – 14, and 15:30 – 16:00. A program with the exact workshop times and room assignments will be published soon. If you have any preferences for the beginning time of your workshop / tutorial or duration, then please let us know (if you did not do so already).
